What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When visitors leave comments on the site, the site collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
After Peter reviews and approves your comment, your comment will be publicly visible. If in addition to a comment, you provided a name and website (both optional), these too may be publicly visible. If you also provide an email address along with a comment, this will not be publicly visible.
If you ask to be notified of blog updates (i.e. if you “subscribe” to this site) and you provide your email address for that purpose, Peter will retain your email address for future communications. You may unsubscribe to this site at any time using the Subscribe/Unsubscribe page. Peter will then delete your email address from the blog records.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. links, videos, images, articles etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
Peter does not share your data with anyone, except in the unlikely event of safety issues, legal issues, a police investigation or court order.
How long we retain your data
If you leave an approved comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.
If you subscribe to this blog, your email address is retained until you unsubscribe.
What rights you have over your data
You may request to have your previously published comments removed at any time. Please use the page Subscribe/Unsubscribe to leave your request and provide enough detail to let Peter know that you really are the original poster. No one else will see this information.
You may request that we remove your email address, if we have it, from our blog records. Please use the page Subscribe/Unsubscribe
